LAST EDITED ON May-02-00 AT 03:26PM (CST)[p]With the northern half of the US openers around the corner, what new gadgets do you have that you are looking to try. I know that some of you have purchased a PinPoint system, a Wave Tamer or just a new pair of pliers.

What are you most eager to try?

Mine is the FigRig Rod...on Walleyes...Ufda!

I fish for walleye plus fish on lake michigan. This year was the year of the update/rigging of the boat.

I've put on a complete pinpoint system with two displays, gps with mapping, downriggers, planer mast, rod holders, new marine antenna and trim tabs. Actually, I'm just about to install all this stuff. I found I need a jack plate to set the kicker back a bit to allow room for the trim tabs.

I'm eager to take the boat out for a test run sometime next week. I'm almost afraid to hear what my better half will want when she sees the bottom line :-)

I'm kinda anxious to try out the new rig!! Does that qualify as a gadget? Thus far, it's only been on the river. Looking forward to trying it in the sh**!

Oh, yeah! That definitely is a gadget of major proportion. Love to see the smile on your face when you are in the real "stuff". hahaha.

Is anybody else climbing the walls like a greyhound on race day? Jeepers, I am! Judging by some of the posts, their tone and content, there are some other anxious people, too. Happens every year at this time. Hope no one blows a gasket waiting for "the day."

I'm lucky and live in ND. Been driving down to Waubay, SD last 2 weekends. Great fishing with my limit before noon everytime. They have a slot where you can only keepo fish from 16 to 20 inches. (One over 20". Luckily everyfish we catch is 17.5 to 19.5. Perfect eaters. They are all comming out of 4-5 feet of water in the timbers by pitching jigs.

My partner purchased a Yarcraft 1895 Storm. We just love it. It was rough out last 2 weeks and we tried to get wet and couldn't. Waiting to see how it handles while fishing on the open water though.

Also purchased a whole supply of Lil Rippers, Rippsticks and Reefrunners. Anxious to see how they do. Just had Reefrunners last year.

Heh heh, Hawaii would be great, wonder how I get my boat there easily :-)

I'm having fun re-rigging, finding I need those spare parts now like jack plates and the like. Those I might be able to sneak in ....

Good fishing
