Just started checking out my new Globalmap 1600. Looking at the background map that comes with the unit versus the MapCreate on the CD, I can't really see any advantage to the CD. Am I missing something?
You will get more detail when you zoom in with the CD downloaded into the unit. I thought the same thing until I loaded it. I think it is a great unit. If anyone has any info on the navioncs CD I would appreciate their reply. I am intersted in the Green Bay area and wondered how much of the Bay it covers. Also if they are accurate.

The Navionic map that you download is great and has excellent detail. I have one of Lake of the Woods and with all the islands it makes it easy to navigate the lake. Navionics makes there own maps and they seem to be very accurate and they also have some depth coutours on some of there maps.......
