I have used two older style Plano Magnum boxes to store much of my walleye tackle, weights, jigs, spinners, clevises, hooks, etc. These boxes are the ones that are goldish brown in color and are shaped like a briefcase with a transparent lid on each side. I do not find the same box in any catalog or store.
Earlier this year I knocked one off my workbench and broke it and now I find that my second box has a large crack starting on one cover and it will not last much longer. I have looked but I do not see what looks like a good replacement.
What do you use for storing your rigging and jigging components that you find efficient, compact and easy to access?

Jack, You can contact Plano Customer Service at 1- 800-226-9868. If you send in your cracked lids, I am fairly sure they will send you replacement lids at no additional cost.

I have most of my stuff in the Plano 3700 series clear plastic boxes with the movable dividers. You can put about anything in them, and they stack easily in any type of bag. Cabelas and Bass Pro both make nice bags designed to hold anywhere between 4 and 12 of these boxes.
I used to have several of these boxes and found that they worked pretty well.
However, after dumping everyting in the boat twice - on the same trip, due to the latch catching on the backside of the box, and opening, when I wasn't expecting it - I decided to get rid of these style boxes. Incidentally, all of the lids had cracks in them, when I got rid of them.
I now have about 4 - soft sided tackle bags of different manufacture.
Then I have about 100 or so - plano plastic boxes.
I use the 3600, 3700 as well as the 240 b0xes.
I use the 4 soft sided bags for every day fishing - with generally only one bag in the boat on a given day.
In addition to that - I have several rubber maid boxes to store the unneeded plastic boxes -
If I am on a long trip - I will take more bags and or boxes, with the option of choosing what is needed for the particualr outing.
For shorter outings - day trip - I simply put in the plastic boxs of choice for that particular day.
One thing about using this method - is that it maakes you think about your presentation for the day - rather than just taking everything - and trying many different presentations in a helter skelter fashion.
But in general - I have the tackle sorted as follows:
Walleye jig and rig fishing.
Bass fishing
Northern fishing
Crank baits
Pan fishing
Trout fishing
For each of these different type fish, and style fishing; I simply pick the bag of choice and I am good to go.
In addition, I have a side bag - containing all of the "always needed items" pliars, hooks, beads, clevises etc. that go on every trip.
Another advantage of this style tackle storage, is that you only open the particular "small" box, needed for a particular bait. If you have the mischance - of taking a wave over the side, or open the box in a heavy rain - you only have to dry out this one box. Also, if you happen to trip or have some other accident, with the box open; you only have to clean up the contents of this one small box: rather than the contents of a huge tackle box.
Take care

I have my tackle set up like REW, but on a much, much, much smaller scale. I have the Cabela's Denny Brauer magum bag plus another bag I put my plastic baits in. It's a great bag. If you get a bag, get a vertically stacking setup. You can put any size boxes you want in them. I have some of the big, fat boxes and a few really skinny ones. And unlike the horizontal stacking bags, when you pull one box out the whole thing doesn't collapse or the other boxes don't fall out.
I have probably 15 boxes and I'll take the boxes with applicable taxes for that day. The Denny Brauer magnum bag also has big enough pockets to hold both my 7520 and 7500 graphs.
As for boxes, Plano and Tackle Logic both make good boxes.
My set up is so similar to REW's that I won't bother to repeat it. The only thing different is I took some store coupon wallets and roll up my rig leaders, hold them together with aluminum foil tabs and file them by writing on the outside what is on the inside, e.g. 10' #8 flourescent orange, etc.

I use Plano Tackle Logic plastic cases & the black Tackle Buddy tubes for my worm harnesses. Everything fits together & stacks real nice.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Dave S: I will call Plano and see about getting a replacement lid, Thanks.
I already use quite a few plano plastic boxes, mostly for my walleye plugs. I have labeled each slot by marking with an indelible marker on the inside of the lid and over each slot; what the plug name is and how deep Precision Trolling says it will go maximum without additional weight. I had to write backwards so that all read left to right when viewed while the boxes are closed, only a couple of wrong facing letters.
I will look into getting some bags, thanks again.
You gotta love this sport.
