Haven't really thought about a GPS lately until the recent posts regarding accuracy. Can anyone give me an idea of what I need to spend on a hand held unit to get something worth owning, model & brand suggestion??

Scott:

What do you want it to do? What features do you need? want? You can spend from about $129 to $1,000. The low-end will put you on waypoints, but will store fewer waypoins, won't have maps, may not have a plotter, etc. You need to decide what you need and then you can find a unit to fit those needs.

You may want to wait just a little. Somewhere around the American Sportfishing Association/ICAST show in Chicago come July, there should be a product announcement about GPS & plotter units with inland lake contour and structure data contained inside. This is what we've been waiting for! Several manufacturers using Navionics data should have it.
