I'm planning on going to Big Stone this weekend, is the green slime still everywhere? How has the fishing been so far this year on Big Stone? Is the USFA Team Walleye on Sat. or Sunday on Big Stone? Any info would be appreciated, thanks Mille Lacs Guy.

The green slime is still there and probably will b e for quite some time. Fishing has been tough but have had some luck on pulling spinners w/ nightcrawlers. Bumblebee color blades.

If you like slime, you'll have a great time!
The green slime is everywhere but if you can be patient and find the spots with rocks you will be in luck. Jig and minnow and slip bobbers worked well. Tried to pull plugs but that was worthless in the north end with all of the slime. Fished the opening weekend and caught about 35 walleyes ranging from 12 to 26 inches. Had a great time. Good luck.

Why all the slime? Can someone explain why the lake is full of slime this year? Other years I haven't had a problem with it.
