OK, I know this has been talked about before but is Pinpoint ever going to release the GPS technology they have been testing? I love my 7520 units but I am getting tired of having to purchase other units for the GPS stuff. It would be nice to have it all in one unit. And before you say it I don't like the Lowrance units. My 7520 is just to darn good!

Available before next fishing season for sure. I've been looking forward to it too. Plugs right in to your existing 7520 with no need to send your unit in to the factory.

So this will be a separate unit? I was under the imprsession that the software and hardware would just be loaded into the units. Also any idea on the general cost range? I really hope they follow through with this, I have had my units 1 1/2 yrs. and one of the deciding factors was the fact it was suppose to have GPS capabilities in the Fall of 2000.

A GPS module will plug right in to your unit. The module has a small card reader and reciever (probably) that you will have to mount. I haven't seen the actual set up, only talked to the factory. The GPS will display and operate on your existing 7520, as the unit has the "hardware" built right in to it. So ii should be very simple.
I believe I was told the cost to be around $400.

I have been waiting for this for awhile. Sure would make things simple on us. Does anyone have Mike Jones email at the factory? I had it but when my computer crashed last week, Poof it was gone. Good fishing and don't forget to shoot the puck. Mike Peluso

Doc,
I saw one of the prototypes. It does have a chip reader although this wasn't a production model. The GPS antenna was tiny and flat. It looks like it will be easy to mount.
