The UNOFFICIAL thread for the Walleye Central Member of the Year Award.
Now that we're winding down another calendar year, it's that time again to nominate people for the Walleye Central Member of the Year Award. Please give the name of the person that you are nominating and the reason why. Vote as many times as you like, since this is an unofficial poll anyways and has no connection with the owners of this awesome site.
I'll start by making the "first cast". I nominate Perchjerker. It's unbelievable to see that he has been willing to Email over 150 of us his work with the Reef Runner charts. Not to mention the fact that you constantly see his name when he answers questions honestly, intelligently and knowledgeably.

REW
I don't think I need to explain why.

Den from Sportsman's outpost. No one I can think of gives as much advice and information as consistantly to everyone all year.Yes he has a business but if you know him,it isn't about money,he just enjoys helping people in general and helping them catch fish in particular.

I THINK FOR THE PEOPLE AROUND ERIE ,IT WOULD HAVE TO BE DEN AND HIS WIFE MARY, THEY HELP YOU FROM THE HEART ,NOT FOR THE WALLET !! REALLY GOOD PEOPLE !! PILGRIM

REW, with Den a close second. Two guys selflessly willing to take the time and share info with others.

This is tough!
Perchjerker, Aquaman and Ranger are all deserving of consideration in my book, but my final vote goes to REW. He posts great answers to questions (more than one of which were mine), and he consistently avoids the wrangling and bickering that the rest of us get into from time to time, and his posts display no personal bias whatsoever with regards to the brand that he may own.
If this don't do it, what will?

Maybe we could do a forum-specific vote, since there are MVP contributors on each.
A "Boats and Motors" forum vote for T-Mac. Always willing to help out with great info. Xplorer
I think it depends on what you're looking at. I think if you're talking boats and the composition of them, REW wins, with T-Mac a close second. Both know the layouts of boats, motors, etc., these two are top notch! I have never owned a Lund, but with all the information I learned from T-Mac, I think I would be able to make a very sound purchase if I went that way.
On the fishing side, for my geographical area, I would go with either Eyez, Aquaman, or Backwater Eddy. I have never fished outside SD/MN, so these three have been very helpful for my fishing experiences.
With all the information I have learned off this website, I can't begin to thank each and every individual who has elevated my knowledge.

So many to choose from, it is truly hard to pick just one as there are so many that have wonderful knowledge in specific areas. For all around best answers and no-nonsense I think I have to definately say that REW you are "da man".

Maybe if they had categories. We could win the "most ridiculous thread" award for sure.

Another one for REW!!!
I look for his posts because I know it will always be good information. After reading his posts I sometimes feel like kicking myself for not thinking of it first. Great no-nonsense information.
Good Luck!
AquaMan

Though I have not seen him lately, I would have to weight in with REW. Succinct, accurate and able to avoid distinct opinions that divide other members.
It has been a pleasure seeing REW on this board since its beginning.
Well deserved!

It all begins and ends at the water's edge...
REW gets my nomination. Very helpful and very fair.

Here's another vote for REW. Just the facts and very thorough information.
You would win that one hands down!!
RANGER

As Aquaman said, I haven't seen REW in here for a while but he gets my vote, too!
Thanks for the mention as well. I appreciate it and hope that I can continue helping and learning!

Scott Golden would have to get my vote just due to the fact if he didn't work so hard at getting this deal to fly we all would not have the opportunity to talk smart and get answers to our inquiries.
With a few very rare exceptions I would say everyone who contributes here is a MVP.
On this forum it is very hard not to find several good answers to a question or to at least gather feedback that will stimulate the old noodle into working on a answer of our own.
This is a great on line community, ya-yu-betch-ya!

Thats a tough one with so many helpful folks out there. Obviously Scott Golden deserves kudo's for his work and dedication in starting and maintaining this fountain of knowledge. As far as memebers that are always offering lots of information, I'd have to nominate ETT, Den and REW in no particular order of course.

Wow guys, I feel so honored!! You guys really know how to make a newcomer feel welcomed!!
But give my votes to
1) Scott
2) Den
3) Jim (ETT)
4) REW
5) T-Mac
6) Juls
7) Driftr
8) Ranger
Also in no specific order...

REW helped me solve a problem. He gets my vote.

I would nominate two.
Juls for anything trolling, especially boards. She has helped many on this sight to better understand the complexities of using these.
REW for the above reasons.
But then again, everyone contributes in their own way. Great sight.
REW, the "just the facts, Mam" man. (Are you still alive?) T-Mac, and Hans, runnerups. Curt Quesnell, where to go fishing. Scott, the background guy. Backwater Eddy, frequent poster. Now, who do you nominate as the one who makes you laugh the most???

ETT Den and Denied

11-28-2001, 08:28 PM

I just think everyone that visit's this site is a MVP
This site is off the hook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Gosh too many good ones.......
If I had to vote it would go to Jim Stedke (ETT)I had the opinion from talking with Jim on the boards and following his posts that he was a real class act. When I had the opportunity to meet and hang around him a couple days this summer it became more than opinion.

My vote would have to go to T-Mac, he patiently emailed me several times answering questions I had and his posts are always straight forward and to the point. For the same reasons I would have to rank REW as a close second. Of course Juls would have to be near the top as well, anybody that fishes with a golden retriever is alright in my book.

My vote go's to REW, he is very knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects. I appreciate the time he has taken personaly in returning my sometimes long winded e-mails. What can I say the guy is always right. Thanks REW whoever you are????

I second that , REW , great technical responses.
The one I laugh at the most has to be Backwater Eddy!

I wouldn't even know where to start thanking people. The list is endless. From REW, Aquaman and Hans helping out with tips and info on picking out and winterizing my first boat, to Perchjerker and the great color chart he came up with, everyone on this site has been first class. I nominate everyone on the site.
And the real winner is....
Anyone and everyone who frequents this site and treats others with respect, ingnores those looking to pick a fight, gains or imparts knowledge of the sport we love, gives an honest straight up opinion, helps people they don't know & will probably never meet and catches more fish than they would if this site did not exist.
I am humbled and gratified to be included in this thread. There are many who have much to say, but refrain because of the negativism and bashing that sometimes goes on. It's a real shame that the knowledge and insight they would give is lost because of someone taking advantage of the annanimity offered here.
With every situation there are those that are part of the problem, and those that are part of the solution. A great big THANK YOU to all those who strive to be part of the solution.
Thanks again, and good fishing.
PS we were out north of Kellys on Tues, only got 3, 2 3-1/2 pounders and brother Rich's biggest ever; 32" and 14 pounds. Not one of those big bellied fish, just big all over. We'll have the mount at the Cleveland Boat Show in Jan. See you there.

but my vote has to go to T-Mac he has answered many questions with
no hype or extra sugar just the facts

I vote/nominate Backwater Eddy. Lots of good info. For example, one of Backwater Eddy's posts or articles mentioned long pauses with suspending stickbaits...that tip put a whole bunch more fish in the boat this fall. Thanks!
Bob,
A local taxidermist in Lima by the name of Jim McNamara has been doing Rich's mounts.

Ett and Denieds reports helped me the most. I still caught more sheephead than walleyes, but I've gotten a lot better this year, just about the 50-50 break even mark!

REW for many of the reasons already mentioned. This board for the many positive insightful true fisherman that contribute both freguently and infrequently.

Wow, so many great people here with so much knowledge. I would have to say just for the facts for the widest range of fishing questions...REW.For the best combination of tips and color and just a real passion for fishing...Backwater Eddy. For the kindest, biggest heart...gotta be Juls, always good, positive comments.
