I and a few friends are considering heading up there for a long camping weekend this spring. I was wondering if anyone had any info on where (and what condition) the public camping sites are. I've been told that there are some nice camping sites out on some of the islands, but I have no idea where, or what type of amenities (picnic tables, outhouse 'pits', fire pits?) there might be. Was hoping someone might might have either some info, map, or maybe a phone no. I could call.

Thanks for your time,
Steve

Not familar with public campgrounds but stayed at a private site last summer. Nice campground with reasonable rates. Actually have some sites on the water and have boat ramp on the campgrounds. Made reservations again for this summer.

There are campsites on many islands throughout the flowage. They are on a first come-first serve basis and are free. Fishing Hotspots map shows the islands which have campsites.

Steve, your message is a few weeks old so you may not catch this, but if you do, check www.chippewaflowage.com. Should be plenty of links or resources there. Enjoy. John.
