Fishing the Midwest doesn't air in your area at this time unless you have a satellite dish and get the Midwest Sports Channel. We would like to find a carrier in your area, but have been unable to do so so far. What network stations to you watch fishing shows on now? I would like to contact those stations to discuss 1st quarter next year.
Thanks for your interest in Fishing the Midwest. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Thanks for the reply. We air mostly on network affiliates. I have those addresses. Will continue to work on getting on in your market. Unfortunately, it is getting harder and harder to find network affiliates that will have or make room for outdoor/fishing shows.

Have you thought about approaching the satellite outdoor channels to include your show in their programming line-up? I have Dish Network and I live on the Outdoor Channel. They do have a good variety of programming and I would love to be able to watch a show that pertains to the locations that I fish. Just a thought.

Take care.

Thanks for your input on this topic. Do you watch for selected shows on The Outdoor Channel or do you tune in and stay there. I would really appreciate your thoughts on 24 hour outdoor programming. Would Fishing the Midwest get lost in the mix, or would The Outdoor Channel be good for us.
Your input is truly appreciated.

Thanks.

Actually, I do a little of both. If there is a show that I like, and it has a regular time slot, I usually make an effort to watch that show. I also turn on the channel and watch whatever happens to be showing at the time. I do know that they have a "Monday Night Fishing" line-up that consists of all fishing shows during the primetime hours. The line-up needs some work though in my opinion. Too many deep sea type programs. That's beside the point.

Here's how I look at it...
The satellite industry is boooming right now. Especially in the rural areas that have no access to cable. Typically, the majority of sportsmen and women live in these rural areas to get away from the big city b.s. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's an assumption that I make. I realize that the Outdoor Channel is a channel that you have to subscribe to. And I'm not sure how many Dish Network customers actually subscribe to this channel. All I can tell you is that most every sportsman that I know of that has Dish Network also subscribes to the Outdoor Channel for a measly $1.99/month. What better way to reach a targeted audience?

Now I'm not sure what it takes to get into the general line-up of shows. I do know that currently there is a decent variety of both hunting and fishing shows that are carried on the channel. I also feel that they could use a few more though. And Fishing the Midwest would be one worth tuning in for!

Thanks for your intrest, and good luck to you during this upcoming season. Keep it safe!

Take care.

Bob,
I would like to know if your show airs in the Omaha, Nebraska area. I believe I have seen your show a while ago but I can't remember where. Furthermore, I work for a ABC affiliate in Omaha (KETV). If you would like, I could talk to the program director about airing the show. E-mail me if your interested.
