If you are willing to do some driving I would strongly recommend driving up to Clear Lake. It is a walleye gold mine. Not over fished at all. I am not sure what it is doing right now but in a couple weeks it should be real good. Trolling with rattling rap or jigging a minnow or night crawler.
I haven't had to much luck with walleyes close to Newton. You can catch some dandy largemouth in some lakes near you.

Good Luck

In a few months Rathbun should be good I usually catch a few in may when crappie fishing
but the good bite is in july/ aug. trolling crank baits on the flats If you have never fished there before stop at the litehouse bait shop they always know where they are biting & what on.
Hope this helps ,
MIKE
