I haven't fished Clitherall, but the nicest thing about the Fergus Falls area is that if one lake isn't hot, chances are good that another one within 1-15 miles or so is. - Kevin B

a freind of mine took me out on clitheral last spring, did very good, lindy w/leaches, wind blown inside turns were the best, when you get there go to bens bait in battle lake for bait and info, they seem to know whats been going on.good luck!! minneman

The Minnesota DNR has a website that contains lots of information and maps of many of the lakes in Minnesota. I'm sure you'll find lots to look at there. Have fun.

i can tell you that one of the best lakes in minn is birch lake near ely....eyes abound...spring or fall is best...but.....also 20lb northerns and slab crappie..i've gone there for15yrs and am going for the opener...have caught a few eyes over 10lbs..and lots of eaters..catch my limit everyday without fail....jig n minnow is best...but crawlers or leeches also work....virtually no fishing pressure because most of the lake is govt owned....email me if you need more info....good fishing

From there you can use the lake finder and pull up DNR statistics on about any lake in Minnesota.

The lake is amazinly clear for that area of the state. The lake has alot of sand bottom which bodes well for you. Use a long 6 ft plus snell after the weight if you go with the lindy rig approach.
Silver colored raps work well on the shoreline at night. My brother in law actually caught two just pitchin off the dock on evening.
Good luck and enjoy tis a wonderful place
