I'd like to plan a trip this weekend for crappie and walleye at Rathbun. I've never been there and would appreciate your help. Any information on where to stay, bait shops, guides, and places to fish would be appreciated. Thanks.

I stay at motel 60 in Centerville, it's about 7-8 miles south of the lake. there is also a super 8 and a motel called Don Ellen which catters to us fishermen but I have never stayed there. I eat breakfast at Hyvee store and away I go. as far as the fishing looks like you might be a little early but I haven't heard any fishing reports yet
