First time at Vermillion end of July - what should we try for? How/when? Staying Wolf Bay (north side, where Vermillion River runs out of lake). Also, worth trying Trout Lake? Thanks in advance.

Couple starting places for you......

At Sand Beach Point (where Wolf Bay widens out by Knotts Island), work the outside weedline along the shoreline going east toward Fox Bay.

Further south, the edge of the flats SW of Zups point, and also the rocky nooks and crannies NE of the entrance to Oak Narrows when the wind is out of the east.

It's a bit of a boat ride from the dam (take a GPS) but if there is a west wind for a couple days, the sand bottom flats down the west side of Fectos point can be a really winner.

All the above assumes your target is walleye.
