hi guys. i am looking to build a cheap permanent hard sided ice shack. i need plans though. i am looking for one that i can make once and trailer out to the lake and leave there for the winter. also, how do you re-drill the holes in the ice shack once they freeze up? all i have is a hand auger. i really need to get some plans so i can NOT freexe my ##### of this year for those late night crappie.

Shane if you are going to use a hand auger for redrilling holes you will need an add on kit that look like wings on the bottom.
They keep the auger from digging real hard when breaking through into the old hole. They can be bought at tackle stores and Fleet Farm You also need to make sure you holes in the corners are far enough from the corner to allow the crank to swing around without rapping your knuckles. If you keep it away from the wall a short distance you can manage it.
If you would like a larger house that is fairly cheap use 2X2's for the frame and door frame and then use Buffalo board and you will not need to use insulation. I had a house that was 6'X 8' and it consisted of 6 seperate panels including the floor which was just 2 sheets of plywood no frame. They bolted together on the ice. It was light weight and easy to trailer and set up and suprisingly was very durable when painted with reject paint from Menards at 2$ a gallon.
That is the cheapest house I have ever had and it worked very well.
