SOUNDS LIKE THE WATER PUMP IS SHOT. BETTER GET IT CHECKED OUT OR YOUR MOTOR WILL BE SHOT!

Check your oil and be sure it has all the additivies that are suppose to be in there. My buddies overheated and we found that he tried to get away with useing cheap oil and it didn't all the goodies. Could be other things allso but just a thought. BIGRAY

First off, what kind of motor is it? Oil injected or pre-mix? If its pre mix, you could have a lubrication problem, as was mentioned. If it's overheated, and quit, then it's possible it locks up when it gets hot, then will restart after cooling down. If this is the case, you've scored the cylider walls, and it it will need to be rebuilt. Same scenerio if the water pump is shot, possibly. Only way to know for sure is to tear it down and take a look. Good luck.

May need an impeller. Is water circulating thru?

Had this happen with an old Chrysler years ago. Took it in and the cooling jacket was full of loon-s___ after a run in shallow water the year before. The service tech cleaned it out and put in a new impellar and it ran like a charm (or as good as a Chrysler EVER ran. :-)

First thing to do is replace the water pump. Agood mechanic should be able to advise you as to whether the motor needs to be rebuilt. Looks like a long winter has set in so you'll have plenty of time. Herb
