I fished there once and stayed at Garys Motel, he also guides, I've stayed at better motels but if you are there just to fish it might be alright for you. He has everything you would need and will do what he can to get you fish. He is in the town of Chamberlin and what I did was drive up to the damm and put in. Alot of driving but we caught fish and had a good time. (can't help you as far as April, I'll be on Kentucky lake that week)

eyeswon, SD in late April can bring many suprises from mother nature it can range from snow rain mixed to a nice 70 degrees.
the last two winters we have fished out of our boats year-round
here, this year is a bit different. You should get into a good bite on Sharpe during that time period. The fish are on they move towards there spawning grounds, you just have to be able to stay on top of them. They will be on the move from West Bend clear to the Dam at Pierre,S.D. My son and I run a Guide service And would
be happy to talk to you about a trip anytime.

Sincerly,
