I'm planning on fishing the NE corner of South Dakota this spring. I was wondering if you ever fished there and what lake(s) would you suggest. What time in the spring do you think is good; April or May?
Thanks

Chester:
Thanks for visiting our site. I have fished in the NE corner of SoDak quite a few times. Some of the lakes are very, very good. Waubay, Big Stone, Traverse, and Thompson are some of the lakes that I have visited.
Timing depends on the year. Late April and early May can be great. We did very well there last year in early May throwing jigs in shallow water. Lots of 2-6 pound walleyes.
Some of the lakes in that area are getting pounded. I hope there aren't too many fish taken out, but it looks like that is happening on some lakes.
For information contact Les Rowland. Les guides in that area and is very knowledgable about that area. His website is sodakguide.com
Let me know if you have more questions.
