I'm looking for information on rivers in eastern Iowa that hold fair numbers of walleye/sauger and smallmouth. I'd like to jump start my spring fishing and this seemed like a possible solution. Any information would be a great help!!!! Thanks

The Mississippi is the walleye king in eastern iowa. Otherwise, the Wapsi and Cedar can both be good for walleye, especially in the spring. The Maquoketa River below the dam is a great catch and release area for smallmouth.

Can you float a boat (Crestliner 1750SC w/ 70HP) below the dam on the Maquokta? Where would you launch?

There's no way to get your boat in below the Delhi dam. It's a wading or canoe area, pretty shallow for the most part.
