Do you think it's worth while to plan a fishing trip at the end of March for lake Francis Case? Will the ice be out by then. Need some advice.

Fort Thompson -- "Walleyes are still good for boat fishermen below the spillway around the island with lots of 3 and 4 pounders being caught. Everybody's catching fish down there and some are doing good on the ice north of the spillway catching walleyes and northerns on minnows and smelt." said Don Allen and Hillside Motel and Bait in Chamberlain.
Chamberlain -- "A few walleyes have been caught west of the bridges and the ice is still a good 2 feet thick out there." Allen said.

I was out on the water below Ft Thompson on Saturday March 17. The bite at the time was pretty good.
