Hey Tfisher,
My favorite lure? Whatever they are biting on!!
Honeslty though, a 1/16th oz jig and a leech minnow or crawler. If I can catch em on this, it means the fish are where I like to fish em and how I like to fish em.
Have fun......R

In October - November we troll a lot at Bay de Noc in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Believe it or not our best lure to catch hawgs are #18 Rapalas.
Reef Runners. They just catch fish.

Spinner rigs, rainbow colored blade is my #1 live bait rig.
Deep thunderstick (old style) silver and green is my #1 minnow bait
Rebel crayfish is my #1 search bait for walleye at my favorite (secret) walleye lake!
It seems like there is as many good baits as there are fishermen!!

A jig and whatever is slow enough for me to catch and hang on it.
After that cranks, Husky's are a great piggy fish bait.

Ever try th SALMO Whitefish, great bait in fall.
The old Husky #13's are no more now so take a look at the Salmo line. Shallow and deep runners, the deep runners have metal lips hay, one tough critter, great cranks!

Had a couple of favorites. Jigs, Lindy Rigs, erie dearies were my favorite. But I can't wait to try a little lure we have been using on coho and brown,s here in northern Indiana. It comes from australia, nicknamed "aussies". It looks like a hot n tot but has changeable bills. Their are 3 different kinds. shallow bill: tight side to side wobble,Deeper bill: wider side to side wobble,Third makes the lure change to run on its side eratically like a wounded bait fish. We were using hot-n-tots, rapalas, and various stick baits trolling for coho's last week. Had one aussie on, caught the first fish on the aussie, added another aussie in different color and had two hits at the same time on the aussies but nothing on the others. Changed to all aussies brought in 5 more coho within 30 minutes. Can't wait to try them on walleye in Erie. It could be my new all time favorite. We'll see! Tight Lines! Craig

Jigs #1, when cranks are working I like reef runners and thundersticks but the best has to be Pearl #9 Shad Raps when they are hitting cranks. Only problem is, rumor has it that Rapala is discontinuing them even for Canada!?!? These lure manufactures really tick me off. They discontinue a lure so you have to buy one of their "other" lures. Typically when that happens, I make an effort to find different manufacturers and try new lures!
