Have not fished with them, and just put an order in to them direct for the deep lil ripper.

Just from the picture they look similiar to the wally diver (correct name?)

Any body out there used both to comment.

The new deep lil ripper casts/dives to 9 feet while the lil ripper lists at 4 feet.

The reef runner and ripstick appear to be a little large and the lil ripper maybe a little short on depth. (Looks like the new deep little ripper is maybe the best overrall choice for fishing 2 -10 feet of water) Comment?

Rick j,

the reef runners are the hottest trolling baitout there right now. the difference between the reef runner and the wally diver is the " wiggle". the wally diver has a tight fast wiggle that seems to be productive when casting in warm water conditions, espectially in the weeds. the reef runner, in my opinon, is a pure trolling bait. has a wider, more lazy wobble witch seems to drive the fish nuts sometimes. good to have both of these in the box. both catch a lot of walleyes for me.

Boy I hope that Deep little Ripstick runs deeper than ten feet. Im looking for it to run eighteen to twenty feet long lining with ten pound test line. How about it Graig (the Reef Runner peddler)
what have you got to say? D.R.

I have used the Deep Lil Rippers and have found that you can troll them down to 18ft with 150ft of 10lb test out.I Having been using them on Erie and they have been working good.My biggest fish this spring has come on a Flame color.(13.21lbs)

Last August 3 of us were trolling every evening for a week in Big Sand near Minaki Ontario. One of my fishing buddies brought along 1 deep running reefrunner just to give it a try. (I almost bought a couple before the trip but I foolishly thought the reverse barb hooks were too strange). Well, I had a tackle box full of Walley Divers and Shad raps that were comparable size and color as his reef runner and he caught 2-3 eyes for every 1 that my dad or I did. Needless to say this august there will be many more than just 1 reef runner in our boat. Also if my buddy wants me to backup tth boat to undo his snags while we are drifting in the mornings, he better bring at least 2 of any other new gimics he wants to try this year. Just kidding, I was grateful for the education. (I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it)

Where can a guy get the Deep Little Rippers?

Rick J.

Call the factory direct. I believe the no. is 419-798-9125.

Go to their web site to look at colors and other selections. Also to find the number above if it is incorrect.

I have looked on the Reefrunner website and they only show little rippers. There are not deep diver little rippers there to order. The custom colors are not there either.

Any other suggestions?

The deep little ripper will dive 20 feet with 200 feet on 10lb mono. They are available at Galyan's in Minneosta and Chicago. They also have some eriedescent and cheap sunglasses.

Good Luck

Dakota,

You are correct in the depth. When the guys were testing the lure in Lake Erie, they were able to bounce it off bottom in 18 ft. of water.
Believe they had out near 180 ft. of line.
I have talked with the authors of Precision Trolling and they plan on doing a dive curve for this lure. Look for that curve to be in there next edition.

Good Luck!!!!!

Hey BigC; that color chart is for Reef Runners, Rip Sticks and Deep little Rippers. Boy, I bet Greig and his people are getting rich!! Make sure you buy two of each color, remember you can lose them like any other baits. D.R.

Scheels' newest store (in Lincoln, NE) keeps telling me they haven't got any of the Deep Lil' Rippers in yet (for the past three weeks this has been the response). Is there hope?

I went to www.dakotamart.com, ordered a catalog from them online, received it quickly and placed my order this morning (over $100) via their "800" - 1-800-382-2553. Cost $4.99 a pop (for, I think, a limited time)
