Does anyone have a report as far as the yellow bass bite on Clear Lake? I know the weather has been kind of screwy, but I was wondering if things had started to pick up yet or not.

Thanks in advance.

What is a yellow Bass? Is that a perch?

Hawgeye,

Yellow bass are not perch. They don't get as big and they have stripes that run horizontally instead of vertically. For more info on yellow bass, check out this website.

Fished Clear Lake on Labor Day weekend. Went for walleye, but picked up a few yellows. Most were caught on jig and nightcrawler. The report at that time from the locals was that the bass were starting to school and fishing was just starting to pick up.

Thanks Pete. I wonder if that is the same as the white bass or silver bass as we call them on the Missouri River? Sure looks like the same fish.
