Have any of you used the Rod Wrangler advertised on the classifieds Page. If so what are your thoughts or comments about this product. Cabeles also makes something similar.
Here are the links to both products, please let me know what you think.

I have had a rod wrangler for the last year and a half. I really like it most of the time. It keeps the rods up off the floor and out of the way and untangled. One thing I don't like about it is that when it is windy, the lines on the rods hum as the wind whistle thru it. It can drive you crazy. The only other problem is when you fish with more than one other person, it tends to get in the way. I usually fish by myself, so that is only a rare problem. Other than that, it's a great product. If you fish with a crowded boat or wind swept lakes, think twice.

The link for the cabelas one isn't working for me, but I bought one from Cabelas and it works great. It is just rod holders screwed to a metal frame. It does not have the support half way up the rod like rod wrangler does, but even in wind at Big Mac, The rods didn't whip or anything. It also doesn't lock into the seat pedestal, which worried me at first, but I've never seen it move even in waves. It is more compact so if it was getting in the way you can tuck it under the console.
Eyeboy and I used it at the Glendo get together and they are really sweet for trolling, you can put it in the bow and have a bunch rods rigged and ready to go, but they are out of the way and not in the lockers.
Good luck.

I've got both, I think the Rod Wrangler is AWESOME! The Cabelas is the standard model with wedge base, $30 and UPS and she's all yours, it's been used twice! EB

I bought a Rod Wrangler right here on W.C., and I really like it. You can have eight rods rigged and ready to go. Up off the floor, tangle free, and it really doesen't take up that much space. Just be careful when your passing under a bridge, railway trestle etc. almost broke all eight of them at Green Bay. Another word of caution, they do lock into the seat pedestal but they can come loose and bounce out, seen one go off the back of the boat eariler this year, I went to the hardware, bought some plastic coated 1/4 inch cable, a snap for the cable, took out one of the bolts in the seat base and replaced with a eye bolt and I fasten the cable to the rod wrangler, if it pops out it won"t go in the lake. Good fishen and tight lines. Wallygetter
