My wife and myself returned from a trip to Clear Lake 10/13. Caught some nice walleyes and kept some yellows. Question we caught and returned 2 walleyes in the 20inch range. The had wart like marking all over their bodies. One of the warts fell off and they ozzed blood from the warts. All the other fish in the 16 to 19 were clean. Is this due to water problems at Clear and are the fish caught out of the lake ok to eat or is it some natural illness? Thank you Steve

this is very natural to see on fall, winter and spring walleyes in the midwest.it is just a skin virus that is brought on by cold water periods. absolutely nothing to worry about. no more than the human version of exzema. spelled right?
