View Full Version : Bob, what have you been up too?
Bob,
What have you been doing lately? Please share us.
When can we expect the start of your new televison season? I see that last years schedule is still posted on the site.
I may have a conflict with your show if it stays in the same time slot as last year in Mason City. You'll be on the same time as 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. Who should I tape?

Thanks for you interest Paul.
We don't have our tv schedule in place completely yet. Contacting the various tv stations is one of the things that have been occupying my time as of late. Mason City is one of the stations that we don't have locked in yet.
Deciding between taping Fishing the Midwest and Buffy would be a difficult decision. I am glad I don't have to make those decisions.
I have been fishing quite a bit lately, attending meetings with sponsors, and visiting industry wholesale shows. There is also quite a bit of office work that needs my attention.
Hope to get on the water some more before ice-up.
Thanks again for your interest. Good luck with the Fishing the Midwest/Buffy decision. Think this one out long and hard and don't make any hasty decisions. I am confident that you will do the right thing.
Best Fishes,

Bob: I was wondering if you will be posting your show schedule somewhere too. Last year at the St.Paul show you had a very intrusting seminar. Looking foward to this show season. Also did you get to LOTW this summer for some future shows, or maybe Red Lake Crappies? Hope to see you again this year. Dick KAitZ...(Kaz)

Stations and show descriptions will be up soon. We did get to Red Lake for the crappies, amazing bite.
Didn't get to Lake of the Woods, but did go to lots of really good lakes and rivers throughout the Midwest. The quality and diversity of the fishing here in the Midwest is incredible.
Won't be at the St. Paul show this year doing seminars. Will be in Des Moines, Cedar Falls, and Madison for sure. Will get those shows posted as well.
Thanks for the interest.

Bob,
I didn't see Mason City on your sports show schedule.

I'm at the Madison Fishing Expo this year, which is the same weekend as Mason City. Maybe next year for Mason City.

When did you fish the crappies on Red Lake (open water I presume)? I fish the Grand Rapids area a lot and wouldn't mind making a day run up to Red.

I have fished crappies on Red Lake in both June and March. Great action at both times. On the March trip, the action started when the sun got to the treeline in the afternoon, in June the bite was all day.
In open water, you need to keep the bait, up in the crappie zone, which was 2-4 foot off the bottom. Sheepshead will eat the bait everytime it gets close to the bottom. However, the sheepshead are great fun on crappie tackle. 1/16th ounce Whistler jigs with Power Tubes were best.
Let us khow how you do.
