Bemidji Area Ice

Just got a report that some of the smaller lakes in the Bemidji area have a skim of ice. Not safe yet, but if the temperatures stay where they are, anglers are expecting to be able to get on the smaller lakes by next weekend.

Remember, be careful on that thin ice. Let someone else be the first one out there. I have fallen through thin ice twice, and didn't enjoy it either time.

Lots of the lakes around here experienced high winds over the last couple of days and the ice was pushed to the side of the lake. bummer for us college kids who wanna fish over xmas vacation.
