Here in west central Minnesota we do not have any safe ice as of yet (at least from what I have seen and heard). Some of the shallow bays had ice on some lakes as of the end of last week, but the main lake areas were still open. It appears that we may not have any fishable ice by the weekend either as the daytime forecast for the week calls for highs in the 30's and lows only in the teens at night. I would be interested to hear about ice conditions in other parts of the Midwest.
