My passion is spincasting for walleyes. My favorite rigs are the Weapon and the Pigmy. I was looking at the Loomis 7 1/2 ft Med action rod. Has anyone had experience with this model ??? I fish western basin Lake Erie

As far as I'm concerned you won't beat the choice on the rod. You may be paying the premium for the Loomis but whats a few hun when your running around in a $20 to $30 thousand dollar boat right. Good luck and good fishing.

I got a good buy on some 842 GL3 spinning rods in the Fla Keys last winter. It should be just about the same rod, in a 7' model. They were great for spring pier fishing and for spring and summer walleye on the western basin. Best rod I own for action and sensitivity.
