Minn opener on Big Winnie

Did the Minnesota Fishing Opener with the guys from West Des Moines and Urbandale for the 15th or 20th year. Whatever, anyway Saturday morning was putting the dock and boat lifts in, batteries in boats and 4 wheelers then lunch. My friends cabin is in High Banks area and where did we fish on 65,000 acre Big Winnie.In 7 to 9 depth within 1/4 mile of the cabin. It rained and the water temp was 45 but we caught fish. Walleyes few perch and couple small pike. Released 6 fish that were in the slot but that was ok. Oh, the 6 of us got 25 walleyes. Since I now live in Duluth took 18 home on Sunday, I had two other people with me. Sunday was nicer day calm and we had 8 walleyes and bunch of perch, biggest was 13 inches, before we left for Duluth. The other three are still at the cabin, fishing eating sleeping and doing odd fix-up jobs. Life's great when the "opner" gets here in Minnesota.
