We're heading up to Nelson for the first time this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions for this lake? Thank you!
Good fishin'!

Nelson is a very good lake for Walleye, Bass and if you can get on them, BIG bluegills. Have fun!

TJ and all..
Nelson Lake "HAD" been the home of several Wisconsin State record Walleyes...alas...no more. Fair to good numbers of bass...few Walleyes...in my experience... Even the local resort owners and fishermen are disappointed in the walleye numbers on Nelson... You can get accurate info fcrom Minnow Jim's Bait shop located on Nelson Lake Road just north of Hayward...411 should be able to give you a phone number... I have had much better luck on the Upper Eau Claire and Middle Eau Claire located just a few miles northwest of Nelson Lake. Good Luck...By the way, Crappies should still be good around the floating bogs on the western arm ... need more info just e-mail me at hgmeyer@rocketmail.com
