I'm going to be picking up a new Otter magnum sled with the Lodge size canvas. Looked at both the Otter and Canvas Craft canvas, and saw advantages and disadvantages to both the canvas and support bar systems. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hey Dave.
New fishhouse for the get-together :-) I have the canvas crafters canvas and my son-in-law has the Otter canvas...no comparison, canvas crafters- hands down. Heavier canvas, better workmanship, and better poles. Mine is black, warms up really nice on sunny days, purple...well. Both are better than all the rest..in my opion. Good choice!
Good Fishin' pal...haven't seen you down on the riv...you're missin' out :'(

Bite your tounge, man! :)
I'm still taking fish off the reefs on Mille Lacs. Was up Saturday night and got three in as many hours, but they were quality fish! I was down in Red Wing Friday and the river was looking pretty enticing, though!
As far as the Otter, I'm still toying with that purchase, for this year at least. I have two Clams and a Frabill, so it's hard to justify that purchase till I unload a couple of the others. Two of my friends are going to purchase this weekend, however.

Canvas Crafters hands down. They are the original company.

Dave I have compared both side by side and there is no comparison Canvas Craft is a lot heavier and has big pockets sewn on the sides to hold things.
I like my 8X8 I had at last years get together all except for the rim boards are 1X4 instead of 2X4 and the don't hold up.
I reinforced with metal plates on each corner and the problem is solved.
They best get there orders in early as they get real busy after the lakes ice up.
