I fished that lake in Late July/August....fishing was terrible. The lake if VERY SHALLOW and VERY STAINED water. Which makes for VERY WARM water temps. I rented a cabin on the lake (which was nice) but the fishing was not good. None of the locals were catching anything either. If I were you and your going up there, Fish the spyder chain (I thinks that's what it's called) I caught more fish (bass, walleye) in 2 hours then I did on MOOSE lake in 3 days. Just for the record, I fish about 150+ days a year!!

May would be the best choice for Moose.
Lots of Walleyes no size limit the last time I
fished there. Lucky because 17 inches was the biggest
and most 12 inches. The river input straight east across the lake
from Louie's Landing is good in the spring. July you would have to
troll crankbaits to find them.
Good luck!

I am on Moose frequently. My buddy has a home on the lake. It is a decent Musky lake and some Walleyes can be caught at the mouth of the river inlet in deep water. The lake is so stumpy that you have to run so slow that you need lots of time to move around. I think that if you don't fish the "Chip" being so close....it's a mistake. Don't waste your time on Moose.
