Bob,
What a great show this week. I live in Marinette, so I know how great it is to fish in the river. Could you tell me where you were fishing in Green Bay. I heard it is a great place to fish, but I always thought everyone headed to the Door County side, but lately I have been hearing of people fishing on the Marinette side, but don't know where they fish at.

Pull'n da-boards looks to a productive pattern there for sure.

I see you were using the new Ambassadeur C3 line counter reels, what do you think of them? I see a guy can also get the conversion kits for ABU C-3 and C-4's for about $44. How easy is the conversion, have you tried it yet?

The Lake City Miss River area walleye and sauger fishing got my blood up too, looked fun.

Good show Bob and crew!

But by the looks of it, I think you better hit the "da-jim" before we do the big ><sUMo> cats & sturgon...Eh.

:D HA!

Don't know the name of the area we were fishing. We went out of the river at Marinette and went a little south and east. There were a couple of islands to the east of us, maybe a mile away. We were only out a couple of miles. It was a big reef, 23-34 feet of water.

Wish I could be of more help. Lots of great water in this area, if you use the directions listed above you will find the area.

Let us know how you do.

The conversion kits are easy to use, even I can do it.

Those line-counters are easy to use and very accurate. Will really help you replicate your lure presentations. They are easily calibrated for line test, super-line or mono, and even take into consideration the amount of line on the spool.

If you're looking for a line-counter reel, be sure to take a look at the new one from Abu Garcia, or think about the conversion unit if you have a C3 or C4 right hand reel.

If you go south you go around a big point called seagull bar, then you hit trout bar which runs to peshtigo point I'm guessing that is the place your fishing. The only island that can be seen from there is green which is seven miles from marinette but probably only 4-5 miles from trout bar. Trust me everything looks a heck of a lot closer than it is out there. What time of year did you fish that area bob? I've heard some guys do well early but not sure? Usually fish the river. When you looked south did you see a big point sticking out into the bay? Also I missed the show what lures were you using? Also how big were the fish? Thanks for all the info. And you got one heck of a show Bob, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments and kind words.

Green Island does sound familiar. I'll be that's the island we could see.

We were pulling crankbaits, in September, and the biggest walleye was probably a little over ten pounds. Really nice fish, and really a nice area. I am looking forward to returning.

Thanks for watching Fishing the Midwest.

I will get my hands on one and see what I think of it. Looks like a handy and quick conversion.

Once I get to tinker with it I will post how well it went.

If I can figure it out...Eh...Anybody can!

;)

Thanks for the feedback Bob!

Ok here we go, Saturday I got my hands on a ABU Garcia ABU-TROLL line counter conversion kit for the C/3 & C/4 casting reels.

Being a guy I immediately ripped it open, said "Kewl", then ran over to my rod case and grabbed my ABU C/4. Located a screw driver and dove headlong into it.

The whole installation process took me less then 8 minutes, I timed it Eh.

But I will admit, 3 minutes of that, I spent locating a screw that I dropped. It rolled under my desk, go figure. I guess we write that little 3 minute misshap off as "Operator Error"?

A very simple installation process, if you keep you eye on all the crews, I guess.

Once completed, I read the directions, looks like I did it right the first time. I'll be danged! :)

Now I need some soft water to give it a go, looks like the real deal to me. After perusing over the operational "Yada-Yada", it don't look too bad at all to operate. I think I will keep them instructions, just in case. Spring is a ways off yet, I just may forget, don't ya know.

;)

Overall, it was a snap, a very handy and quick conversion. I hope that ABU will add a left hand model to the line in the future. Lefty's like to troll too.

This will be a very handy-dandy tool for trolling and long line rigging the waters I fish. By the looks of things it was a very wise buy.

Thanks for profiling it on your show Bob!
