IM WONDERING IF ANYBODY CAN TELL ME WHERE THERE MIGHT BE SOME ROCK PILES OR ANY STRUCTURAL TYPE THINGS IN THE FLOWAGE. I HAVE A HOTSPOTS MAP AND IT SHOWS SEVERAL BARS IN IT. ARE THESE SAND OR ROCK? ALSO, ARE THERE ANY TYPE OF SHORE EROSION OR REEF BARRIERS ANYWHERE OR DOWN BY THE DAM IS THERE THOSE ROCK PILE THINGS THAT HELP KEEP THE CURRENT TAMED. AS YOU CAN TELL I AM NEW TO THIS STUFF. MY BUDDY'S ARE TAKING ME UP IN SPRING AND WE ARE HAVING OUR OWN LITTLE TOURNEY AND I WOULD LIKE TO SHOW THEM I CAN HANG WITH THE BIG DOGS AND HOPEFULLY OUT FISH THEM..ANY OTHER INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL. I READ THE HOT SPOTS MAP BUT IF ANYBODY HAS SOMETHING THAT IS NOT ON THERE COULD YOU SHARE IT AND TELL ME WHY SO I CAN GAT A FISH OR TWO AND LOOK LIKE I KNOW WHATS GOING ON.

I will be up there for the Treeland Walleye Challenge which is the 2nd weekend in May. From past experience I would tend to stay on the west side of the Flowage. It's a darker water color and it warms up faster. Try to find the warmest water you can. Last year only VERY slow, light presentations would work. The water was very cold still. Try the submerged bogs past Herman's Landing. Be very patient if it's cold. Maybe try Crane Lake, and the river from it. I've had luck there.
Good luck.

THANKS FOR THE INFO. I AM STILL WONDERING ABOUT WHERE OR WHAT ROCK PILES ARE WHERE AND WHAT BARS ARE ROCK BARS. OR ARE THE BARS ON THE MAP ONLY SAND BARS WITH VEGETATION AND ALSO ARE THERE ANY WING DAMS BY THE ACTUAL DAM?

Without a map, I couldn't really tell you where the rock piles are and such. If you are going to stay on the East Side, stop at the Deerfoot Lodge and ask for Ken. He's the owner and really helpful. Maybe patronize the bar also....that usually gets him to give out a little more info.
I've never fished down by the dam so I can't help you there.
Later....
