I am looking for a nice/clean resort that I could trailer my boat to. My father would prefer a fly-in, but I would like to trailer in my rig. Any suggestions?

Check out Ojibway Outfitters in Souix Lookout, Ont. They have several cabins at Chamberlin Narrows on Lac Suel. You can trailer to the landing and then boat 35 miles to the cabins. Fishing is excellent. I've been there several times and I like August the best. Warm temps and consistant fishing.

Check out Lac Seul's Evergreen Lodge 1 mile east of Ear Falls. Great place, great hosts, great fishing. Only bad thing is they are Packer fans too!

Foreyes: Check out Lost Island at Hudson. Some posts on the "Canada" section have talked it up before and Jim Hayes runs a great place. I fished at St. Joe, old Post and John Grace, but thats a long haul. Also I have fished at Chamberlain Narrows, Ojibway with Ken and Brenda, but that too is a forty mile ride by boat. Lost Island on the other hand is closer, this side of Souix Lookout, and only a 10 minute ride from the landing. If I was to go to Ontario, Lost Island would be my choice. Bring your own gas and buy minnows and crawlers in Fort Francis. Good luck DECIDING....Kaz

Thanks to all that replied. I have been looking at the websites you have given me and it has been very helpful. Hope to get a trip where we catch some bigger eyes. Thanks again.

One of the best areas I have been to in Canada is the Morson area of Lake of the Woods. Just north of Baudette, you can make the trip from the Twin Cities in about 6.5 hours. There are several resorts that can provide limited or full service.

Here are a few:

Moonlite Bay Camp (807) 488-5786

Buena Vista Resort (807) 488-5662 <We stayed here last year and it was excellent>

Obabikon Bay Camp (807) 488-5812

Black Island (807) 275-7482

Swenson's Resort (807)488-5641

Take a look at a trip up to Kenora and Smith Camps. A great spot in the bay, nice cabins, great restaurant and the people are first rate. We hit it a couple times a year, and it's worth it! The Lake of the Woods site has a link to them.
