Has anyone had any luck lately? I fishied it two days last week with nothing, just a cuople bass and bluegill. My sonar was showing TONS of fish from 50ft all the way up to 15ft when the depth was 35ft or more, kind of weird. I couldn't seem to catch any of them, wondering what they were..... Anyone know? Thanks.

I fished Big Creek three times in the last two weeks. Two trips we had calm winds and only caught a few crappie, bass and bluegill. Most of the action was around sunset using jigs. One trip we had a strong wind. We fished the wind blown points and caught a ton of fish. I caught 9 different species of fish that evening. I'm waiting for a good wind before my next trip. PS did you happen to be out last Friday when that girl in the black bikini swam across the lake down by the dam? I thought a pontoon boat was going to hit her. Strang sight.

Probably gizzard shad. Come in all shapes and grossness.

Just a thought, not sure what you was getting on your depth finder but there is a possibility that you were getting a reading from the thermocline. the colder water below the thermocline is denser and depending upon your depth finder specs and what the sensitivity is set at, you can get false readings. The thermocline at Big creek is around 16' which makes me wonder. Next time out, try putting your depth finder in manual mode and decrease the sensitivity a little and see if you lose those signals. They could be fish though. Just because a lake has a thermocline doesn't mean that oxygen depravation will occur in it during late summer. There are many things that influence wether oxygen depletion occurs in a given lake during a given year.
