Just returned from the Land of Lakes region on the border of Wisconsin and Michigan, straight north of Eagle River. Fished several lakes, lots of walleyes, mostly smallish sizes, up to about 16 inches.
Jig and minnow, and jig/minnow/Power Grubs were best. Fish were anywhere from 9 to 25 feet deep. Had to cast as Wisconsin regulations require that.
Local guide Pat Sheehan did a great job of putting us on fish, he knows the area very well, fishes well, and is a good guy to be with in the boat. Mark Gostisha from Frabill joined us as he was in the area for a musky tourney. Two great guys that were a pleasure to fish with.
Had a great pizza, one of the best I've ever had, at a resort up there. Believe it was called Bents Cabins or Bents Resort.
