I was on Spirit Lake last weekend and the perch bite was pretty good straight across the Lake from Marble Beach. I heard that the bluegill are biting pretty well on West. Also heard they had a big walleye tourny on east and west 100 boats on only 35 had weighable fish on Sat. If you have a boat and it's not to windy I would go to Spirit grab some wax worms and wigglers at Kabela's bait shop and look for the crowd on spirit good luck to ya.

Another thing to try is find a weed line off Haywards or echo. Use worms for blugills and perch and maybe soak a few chubs for some powerful smallies.
I was on West just a week ago and the bluegills were bitin good. This was before the rain keep in mind. I actually caught more perch than I did bluegills. No good size though....we were fishin for only about 30 minutes and caught 1 nice perch but no nice gills. I used a green and gold pilkie with either a wax worm or a wiggler...it didn't seem to matter too much.

Welcome to small children. I have a 6 year old and some days he can be on the water all day and no bites and the next day catching fish he is done in an hour. Funny thing is when there are other children on board he thinks he is a big shot running the trolling motor and knowing how to set up planner boards etc. I am talking walleye fishing here now. When er are fishing panfish he is not as interested. I guess he is turning into an equipment nut llike his Dad. Just take him out again is my suggestion.
