Jim or anyone else, what's happening on the lakes? Looking to come out this next weekend and haven't really fished the lakes at all. Would love some advice from someone 'in the know'. Thanks

The GNWC national championship is starts this week and ends sat. on the okoboji chain. I was out friday around sunset and caught a few on west. The bite should be decent in the evening around the shoreline and off the points during the days and evening for walleye. The weed beds are still pretty thick, fish over the top or the edge and you will prolly get a mixed bag. Spirit Lake, they have been getting a few wading in the evening as well, the bite should only be getting better. Good luck, I'd be out there myself, but got conned into going to Missouri.

Thanks for the report. I guess I'll stay away if it's going to be busy.

I believe the tournament ends on sat. there is always Spirit, the bite should be as good if not better there.

I've actually gotten into a good bite on the rivers here in the past few days. Lots of 15-17"ers, but nothing bigger yet. Maybe tomorrow. Thanks for the reports, maybe I'll see you in November.

I went out targeting smallies on big spirit one night this week. Caught a lot of walleyes on my smallie spots, almost all of which were about 13 inches long. Wind was heavy and almost no other boats were out.
