I mostly fish with worms.

Worms can be good, crawlers are often better, especially in the summer. The new Gulp! crawlers and earthworms have been very good for me in many situations.
There generally is no bait that is always best. To be a more successful angler, you need to be versatile and give the fish what they want, and that means you need to experiment.
