I'm wondering if they are even going to operate next year. It would be shame if they don't, but the failure of their coordinators to communicate with the fisherfolks that fish their circuit is telling (my opinion/speculation). Most of the other tournament series have their schedules out so people can plan ahead. I believe there was some controversy about checks and placques awhile back too. If anyone from WWA is reading this, please fill us in...

Not exactly sure what's up with the WWA. Thier Website has not been updated.
Mike Holt is running his own show in Minnesota. (Not sure if this is in conjunction with the WWA??)
Check this site for the 2002 schedule in MN.

The Minnesota Tournament Trail (MTT)is not associated with The WWA at all.
Mike and Renee Holt have started their own Minnesota ciruit. This circuit is owned and operated by Mike and Renee.
An official announcement will be made soon. The brochures are being worked on at the present time. If you wish to receive a brochure upon completion, please call Mike at (320)679-5609.
We have finalized our schedule and it is posted on our website: www.mntournamenttrail.com
The website is currently being built.
As soon as we make our official announcement, the rest of the site will give you all the info. you will need.
Again, if you have questions, or want a brochure when they are completed, please contact Mike and Renee.
Thanks for your time-
Diane @ MTT

MIKE HOLT BROKE AWAY FROM THE WWA LAST YEAR AT THE 2 DAY TOURNEY AT BIG WINNIE. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I WAS THERE FISHING THE TOURNEY.
I DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE WWA BECAUSE THE WEBSITE IS NOT UPDATED. I ALSO TALKED TO THE TEAM WHO FINISHED SECOND AT THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE ST. CROIX AND THEY STILL HAD NOT RECIEVED THEIR PLAQUES AS OF NOVEMBER 23. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE WWA OWNER STEVE POLL THROUGH E-MAIL AND I GET SOME OTHER PERSON IN WISCONSIN. DONT KNOW IF THIS IS BECAUSE OF MY COMPUTER OR WHAT.

I just receaved a e mail from Steve and the dates for 2002 will be out soon. Plaques are going in the mail as I write this.As for the people that bad mouth this circuit should fish it once.Im sure that there thoughts would change.Steve runs a first class tourney and being in its infancy it is growing and learning like all the others had to.
If you want some competition from some some very talented fisherman give it a try. What have you got to lose the money shouldnt be a issue as it cost almost that much to pull your boat out of the garage now a days anyway.
well theres my 2 pennies worth so bash on my spelling and my grammar if you want but i still aint met a walleye that can spell
have a safe and merry xmass

No one on this thread "bad mouthed" WWA. The facts and lack of communication from "them" just raise peoples suspicions. Don't blame them for "bad mouthing" when all they want is some simple answers.
You are right though about them running a good tournament. I did fish one in WI last year and enjoyed it. Everything came off without a hitch and my check didn't bounce so I have no complaints. I was/am looking forward to fishing more WWA events this coming year. But given WWA's lack of communication and the many changes in tournament trails over the past couple of years, it was only natural to begin asking "What's going on?" If they will be back, so will I.
If there is one thing they could do better, it would be making periodic announcements on the message boards here at WC to keep interested fisherfolk informed. Hope they start doing that.

I thought the original question was what the WWA schedule was for the minnisota division? I think I saw another post for the WWA 2-3 months ago and again this MTT tournament came up. Whats up with that? Seems if they need to advertise they should announce on their own and not piggyback on other tournaments. Like the post from Diane@MTT (Mike Holt's sister) that should as well been posted seperate also.I
remember the winni tournament meeting for the WWA mike took the liberty to announce his Trail there, upset alot of us. It was kinda tastless . Is there a time limit on advertising new schedules?? Did this just start or is that as we say, another rumor? But whatever the situation is with any tournaments whether good or bad no one should use any insults or personal vendetas. Thats not what this site is for. Its a nice site to come too but gets discouraging when people are not so nice. Right GF? HAVE A GOOD X-MAS ALL.

I fished the WI cicuit last year. Steve did run a good show. I am hoping this year that they communicate a little btter with us. It was very difficult to get info on where the launch and meeting were located. The first few tournaments I did not find out unitl just a few days before the tournament.
The website not being updated and not receiving checks or plaques yet does bother me. I hope this is not the case next year.
As far as getting a hold of Steve, the only way I know of is to call him. The email on the website does not work. I have tried a number of times.
The WWA has a great opportunity right now to attract a lot of anglers. Hopefully Steve will take advantage of this and be more organized next year. That was about the only problem I saw last year.

I hope you can find a more creative "Handle" to use than badfinger2 !!??
Since Mike Holt is not involved with the WWA. Does anyone know if a new director for the Minnesota division of WWA has been selected?
