Putting this as nice as I can.....If you can edit the poll, you should add one catagory...."Don't Care"
A poll that would be interesting would be to get an idea from the students at these major universities who are paying 5 figure tuition fee on what they want. A makeshift national championship which will probably not include the best 2 teams. Or a College football playoff!
My guess would be a playoff.

To answer your question Badfinger "I DO". The last time I looked most men like football and since this site is predominately used by men, (no offence Juls) Kevins question has merit. It's not like there is alot of fishing going on right now anyway.
I am a die hard Colorado fan but we have no right to complain about the BCS. If you want to be National Champions you do not lose to Fresno State at home in September! I am just happpy we beat the """" out of the Red Horde!

I doubt there would be one vote....
There are plenty of football msg boards that would value your opinion.

What ever guy! I have contributed enough fishing information over the last couple of years on this site, that I am sure everyone will forgive me if we talk a little football while we wait for the ice to harden?
And in case you haven't noticed there a couple of football threads on this page?

Settle down Neil,
I come to this site for walleye discussions, not football. Be fair to us fishermen and at least have a catagoy that I would vote for.
Personally, I think threads like this have no place here at all.
I vote to let the Detroit Lions in. Maybe they could win a game.
Don't bet much on the Lions. A few weeks ago, we looked at Dallas as an easy one. Not any more. 0-16 is very possible.
How about D-2? My son goes to Grand Valley State. They play No Dakota for the championship, this Saturday.
Can't vote on the BCS till Tennessee vs. LSU is over. If Tenn. wins, it's easy.

Never heard of any of those teams. Never heard of Brigham Young either........Kind of a strange name....Almost sounds native in origin.....Ohhh.... Was he the guy with a whole bunch of wives and did not like people who drank alcohol and cut a deal with the government so he wouldn't go to jail.
Maybe someone should add the toronto argonauts or the montreal alowets to the poll, eh? (forgive spelling of the wacky names). I think B.Y. had more wives than the CFL has teams.

Wouldn't it make sence, seeing how this is obviosly a football post, to just not read it? I don't view every post, only the ones I think I might be interestied in!

Well Neal,
I did successfully avoid the other football posts. This one was a poll. Decided to check it out. You seem to have taken my request a bit personally. It was as friendly, polite request to edit the poll so I could participate and be done with it!!
Again, this is Walleye Central if I'm not mistaken. Maybe you should send Mr. Golden a request to add a football forum for you guys who need it.
The fishing here in Minnesota has not slowed to the point where I need to talk football.
Send me a private message if you feel the need to continue this pointless bantering....

Simply put I ran out of Choices Bad Finger and Can't edit it now, I put the poll up because I am a hardcore fishermen but I like college ball and was hoping to condense the threads. The seventh choice was going to have been "football is taht some kind of new jig?" but simply put I wanted to have all the contenders with a defendable claim to the game on the poll and there's not enough room. As too using a football board or poll I did that too and it wsa taken down as simpley put more often then not a football fan that fishes is less hostile and more open.

I vote for:
"football is that some kind of new jig?"
And I agree, Neal is kind of hostile.

Neal is a serial killer from Saudi Aurora.
But of course he doesn't jump down other people's throats when they post a poll and the option the pollee wants isn't listed.

Ok, you guys from Colorado win!! Don't need a serial killer after me.
Hope the lakes out there freeze soon.

Kevin, I realize that your coice's had to be limited to 6 but you should have added Illinois in place of Brigham Young! I'm a Michigan Man all the way but Illinois at least played a decent schedule and only lost once, early in the year. Brigham Young plays a bunch of patsy's and runs up the score on them, every year. They have to upgrade their strength of schedule if they want to be thought of as a National Title Contender. Illinois should be ranked a little higher than they are now. I don't think 2nd but possibly 5th or 6th would be about right. Tennesee beat Florida and deserves the #2 ranking for now. LSU should be a decent game for them but Tennesee should win and then play for the Championship. If they lose, my vote for Tennesee changes to Oregon.
P.S. Football does have a place on this board. If you don't like it don't respond and don't look at it again!

I agree. If Tennesee beats LSU I have no problem with them playing Miami. Tennesee and Colorado had brutal schedules and play in great conferences. I think Tennesee will dispatch LSU and then give Miami all they want!I think Colorado and Oregon will be a great game also if it happens?

Btter for you to hammer on Oregon than Michigan. The Ducks can't hang with you guys and Michigan is still too young to win the BIG games. We'll be around next year in the Title chase. How 'bout your Buff's?? Does graduation hurt you very badly for next year?

Actually next year is the year we were expecting great things. Alot of the good players this year are Sophmores, including three of the four running backs and our starting quarterback Craig oaks. We loose a couple of defensive players and a couple of great offensive lineman, but they have alot of depth!
I have only watched Oregon once this year and it was raining very hard, so it's not fair to judge their performance then. Should be a great game!

Honestly I don't think BYU deserves to be on the pole either BUT if you look at the other threads on the board and you'll see a BYU national contender thread. Teams that were cut down because of constraints did include the fighting illini and if I remember right the lest team to be cut was either maryland (great season for them) or the illini who as you said are playing great. I wanted 10 choices for my poll but the poll feature only has 6 so I had to make do and really just try to represent those higher ranked BCS teams and those teams with threads on the board already. But you're right about michigan, good young team should contend well next year, but don't discount the spartans either they had glimmers of billiance too this year. And neal if you see this I beleive bad finger has taken some of my words out of context, never meant agasint any person on the board.
