I have a cabin on Big Stone Lake, I would just be interested to hear from anyone else who fishes this lake a lot, and how succseful they are.

I've been up there twice this year and am going this weekend. A friend of mine has a cabin on the peninsula.

To sum our luck up, it sucks. Even the sheephead fishing has sucked. We have caugh walleye everytime, but only 2-4 and nothing to brag about. I'm guessing our luck has as much to do with our impatience as the lake, but it seems there is always a cold front moving through.

My buddy with the cabin is up there at least 3 times a month and has not had much in the way of luck either. It sounds like most of the good fishing is off the dock at night. I'm sure if you really ventured up and down the 26 miles you could locate some active fish, but we are more recreational fishermen and like to get back to a cold cooler of adult beverages.

Live Long and Prosper

Good luck.

Mike

I haven't been there, but my brother has a couple times. They also had poor luck... until they tried VERY shallow water. They started casting cranks into 1-3 feet of water, I think in late afternoon, and they just caught a ton. Maybe something to try next time you are there.

Good luck,
