Hi
The south winds have sparked a bit of a shallow rock bite - Leeches and slip bobbers in 6-12 feet of water are the ticket. The wind is a must! Three mile, Agate Reef and Indian Point are good starting spots, but almost any shallow rock reef that gets the benefit of the wind pounding in on it is worth a try. Without the wind, things get tougher - in this case, go deep with spinners and crawlers or minnows.
Yes, we still have big leeches!
The weather for the weekend (as reported by Weatherunderground) looks like this:
Friday: Showers and likely. Highs around 75. East winds 5 to 10 mph in the morning shifting to the south around 5 mph early in the afternoon...then shifting to the northwest toward evening. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Areas of fog after midnight. Cool. Lows around 55. Northeast winds around 5 mph in the evening shifting to the south after midnight.
Saturday: Partly cloudy. Highs around 80. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows around 65.
Sunday: Partly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 85.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows 60 to 65.
The full moon is 7-31-2004
This weekend is "Play Days" in Garrison, and there's stuff going on all day Saturday and Sunday... hay rides, parade, car show, kids games, street dance and lots more! Buttons are $5.
Finally...
According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick, they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.
Have a great weekend,
