Hi
Scattered reports of good walleye catches continue to come in, but the overall walleye "experience" on Mille Lacs this week remains average at best for mid-September. Slip bobbers/leeches in 4-12 feet of water is still the top presentation. Crankbaits have yielded some BIG fish, but so far this has been a NIGHT presentation exclusively. The "fall crankbait bite" that so many folks long for each year is right around the corner... don't get lulled into waiting until November - conditions will be right SOONER than later! Some of the better baits traditionally include Husky Jerks (10, 12), Floating Raps (11, 13), Rogues, Shad Raps (5, 7), Walleye Divers and Salmos. More smallies were found in/near the "weeds" than the "rocks" this week - spinnerbaits and poppers FAR out-produced the plastics. Muskie and northern action remains above average.
Beginning Monday, September 13th, all smallmouth STATEWIDE must be released immediately.
The surface temp is 65 degrees.
Yes, we still have big leeches!

Don't forget to check out our weekly "Shop Special" at www.lundeens.com/shop.html before your visit!
This Saturday (9-11) from 4-8 the Onamia Vet's Club (across the street from us) is having their "Chicken Dinner"... it's cheap, it's good and you'll need to eat anyways! Non-members are always welcome too.
Finally...
Two blondes are sitting on a bench talking and the one blonde says to the other "Which do you think is farther, Italy or the moon?" The other blonde turns and says "Helloooooooooooooooooooo - can you SEE Italy???????"
Have a great weekend,
