Just returned from a day on the Mississippi River upstream from Prairie du Chien Wisconsin. Fished with Jim Hunt from the Cabela's store in PDC, and Bruce de Shano, maker of Off Shore Planer boards and related products.

Bite was good until a front blew through. Caught walleyes, sauger, big white bass, largemouth bass, and a really big sheepshead. Threw crankbaits around wingdams. Walleyes wanted Frenzy Medium Diver cranks. These are thought of as bass baits, but they have been very good walleye baits all summer on the wingdams. Chrome/blue and firetiger were the best colors.

Moved into side channels later in the day, fished holes in the 15-17 foot range. Took nice walleyes(20") on the edges of the holes and sauger in the deepest part of the hole. 4 inch Power Grubs on the new Lip-Stick Jig Worm jig were best.

Great variety of fish, nice size, great trip.

Best Fishes,
