I looked at the Jiffy Stealth ice auger today and seen the new one has the ice house handles that go up. Anyone know the difference between using them outside than the regular ones? Id probably get the 2hp Stealth but dont know which handles i should get. Anyone know which ones are better to use? I mostly fish for walleyes and crappis so is the 8" one big enough or should I get the bigger 9" one? the 9" one alot heavier or about the same?

I will see what I can find out about the "House Handles".
The eight inch hole should do the job for you very well if walleyes are the quarry. The eight inch size is the most popular.
The Stealth is a very nice auger. It will pop holes much faster, and the blades won't ice up. Also, the blades last a lot longer, which is a big advantage if you fish "dirty ice" very much.
Ice-fishing is getting closer. It feels like ice season today.

This is my first power auger and I would probably be using it outside. I lifted both and it felt like the one with ice house handles was lighter to lift and the regular one is wider and heavier. Are the ice house handles better fit for inside a house and harder to use outside?

The house handles work better in corners, such as the corners in a house. If you will be using the auger outside most of the time, go with the traditional handles. They will feel more comfortable and will provide better control.
You will like the Stealth!

Im definately going to get the regular Jiffy. I talked it over with some of my friends and ill probably get the 9 inch because I'll have the Vexilar Fl-8 in it. I just got a good deal on a Frabill XL icehouse in March on closeouts at Gander Mountain for $299, so I should be set now. The only thing I think I need yet is a Mr Heater. I'll probably get that at Cabelas or somewhere.
Thanks for the info on them.

I have one season on the 2 hp Stealth 8" and it worked well. The new blade technology cuts faster than the old. I accidentally purchased the ice house edition but returned it for the regular handle.
Now the longevity test begins. I hope I'm still impressed after 10 years. That's how long I had my Jiffy 3hp and it still worked fine when I sold it for this one. I just wanted a lighter unit.
