Was in northern Wisconsin and UP of MI early last week. Great trip: nice weather, big fish and lots of action.

Stayed at Dancing Eagles Resort in Watersmeet MI, about 45 minutes north of Eagle River WI.

First fish we caught was a 29 inch walleye, last fish we caught was a 42 inch musky. Lots of 17-21 inch walleyes in between. Fished with fishing guide Patrick Sheahan, who headquarters in Land O' Lakes WI.

Walleyes were on the edge of the weeds in stained water lakes in 8-10 feet of water. Weed Weasel and stand-up Fire-Ball jigs, sixteenth and eighth ounce, tipped with redtails, were the ticket. We would catch two or three fish off a spot, then nothing for maybe a half hour. Then there would be another flurry of activity. 10/4 FireLine pulled the jigs through the weeds very well and enabled us to handle the fish effectively. Also helped in revealing fish strikes vs. weed strikes.

Temps were in the 60's, no wind, trees were alive with color. Great trip. We left on Wednesday, there was talk of snow on Thursday as a cold front was rolling in.

Saw a bear, deer, eagles, wonderful area, wonderful fishing, wonderful fishing partner. This trip was a winner.
