Guys - got a new Cabela's catalog and am trying to decide on what lines to purchase next year. I'm a "walleye guy" who prefers rigging and jigging and occasionally trolling plugs. Am interested to know what other anglers would recommend for these techniques??

Jigging - Fireline (6 pound is my preference)
Trolling - Sensation (6#)
Plugs - Trilene XT (I like 8-10# with Trilene)

It's what I use!!

6 lb. Trilene XT for smaller jigs and deeper water

10-12 lb. XT for trolling boards and pulling spinners

14/6 FireLine for flat-lining crankbaits

6-8 lb. XL for rigging

6 lb. XL for slip-bobbers

Trilene XT for most bass applications, pound test will vary depending on cover

On a spinning reel I use Stren Magnathin. In the states I use 6 or 8 lb and in Canada I use 10 lb or 12 lb.

On a Baitcasting Reel, PowerPro is the way to go.

Get a spool of Cajun Red and give it a try for jigging. I laughed when my brother brought it home, but after using it, we are spooling up more with it this year. Worked great on jigging and worm rigs for bass (big smallies in clear water).

We use fireline exclusively on our casting reels.
