A partner and I returned to Waubay Lake in South Dakota this past Saturday (April 23). Despite severe frontal conditions, the walleyes were still on an aggressive bite. In 6 1/2 hours of fishing, we estimated catching about 50 walleyes. Once again, the bite was good on small Fire-Ball Jigs tipped with fathead minnows. Fish were holding in depths from 8-13 feet and ranged in size from 13-17 inches. May return one more time before the season opens here in Minnesota.
